Discover Our Areas of Expertise

The initial consultation is a comprehensive evaluation designed to begin treatment or provide a second opinion. Before our first session, you’ll be asked to complete a detailed intake form. During the appointment, we’ll review your symptoms, medical and mental health history, and any prior treatment records. With your consent, I may also collaborate with other care providers—such as your therapist, primary care physician, or psychiatrist—and, when appropriate, speak with trusted family members or friends to gather additional context. Together, we’ll explore relevant aspects of your personality, lifestyle, and physical health, and I’ll share personalized treatment recommendations, which may include lab or imaging studies if needed.

  • Do you see patients in person and via telehealth?

  • Do you accept medical insurance?
Dr. Kaizer is an out-of-network provider and is not contracted with any insurance companies. A detailed invoice (“superbill”) will be provided after each session, which you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement, depending on your out-of-network mental health benefits.

  • Do I need to switch therapists if I already have one?
Not at all. If you’re already working with a therapist you trust, Dr. Kaizer is happy to coordinate care and provide medication management only. He also offers therapy when appropriate, or can integrate both therapy and medication management, depending on your needs.
  • Where is Dr. Kaizer licensed to practice?
Dr. Kaizer is licensed to see patients in California, Texas, and New York. *Please note: Due to current state regulations, controlled substances can only be prescribed to patients located in California at this time.
